Volkswagen Jetta "Project Neglect"

About this Ride
Type: Automobiles
Model: Volkswagen Jetta

Real Name: Felix
Location: Somewhere near Detroit, MI US.
Gender: Not sure.
Age: 32.54 years

I purchased this 1980 Jetta Coupe with the intent of bring it back to life. I got as far as stripping it to a shell, to discover that it had some pretty nasty rust and a questionable repair to the front end. I finally gave up on it when it got evicted from my friend's garage.

Ha, you should check out the guide on the site called "how to live in a beater world". I think he's got you beat.

Pretty nice photo though, love the angle.

Hey, it's my first car! I had a 1984 Jetta GL (same body style, same color) back in high school. That brings back memories.

The Soccer Mom - Audi A4

Being a wagon, or Avant in Audi-speak, some of my friends started calling my car "The Soccer Mom." One even went so far as to get me a soccer ball magnet for it.

Regardless of it's name, I liked how unusual and uncommon this vehicle is. After having a mk4 Jetta, it's nice to drive a car I don't see coming and going all the time.

Despite my intention to keep the car stock, it was chipped in the first 5,000 miles I had it. As of now, it's running the APR Stage I+ kit and APR exhaust. I was planning to do coilovers, however, relocating to Michigan has made me rethink that idea -- the roads are just too shitty to want to be lower.

2001 Jetta 1.8T WE - Volkswagen Jetta

2001 Jetta 1.8T Wolfsburg Edition. The 16" BBS wheels and stock suspension were quickly discarded in favor of 17" Audi TT "Fat Fives" and Eibach/Koni suspension. Stock exhaust was ditched to install a 2.5" Techtonics Tuning cat-back system. Audi TT short shift kit. InPro chrome mirror covers. JoeyMod'd stock headlights.

Uggtruck/Jerome - 1989 Dodge Ram Van

I purchased Jerome to run in the 2007 BABE rally.

The PGA Golf - 1986 Volkswagen Golf

I purchased this gem to run in the 2008 BABE Rally. It's a frankencar, with an Audi 3A engine, mk3 golf/jetta transmission, and miles of wiring to bypass the bad wiring harness.

After several weeks of work, we got it sorted out and ready for the trip. Surprisingly, it ran the rally easily and was actually fun to drive.

Unknown - 2008 Volkswagen R32

Purchased April 31, 2008.
