I purchased this vehicle on June 5th, 2006. I bought it on Ebay from a guy in Exton, PA. The place was about 1,500 miles from where I actually live. So, it was an interesting experience buying it, flying half way across the country to pay for it, and driving it all the way home. However, I'm glad I did it!
I've only had it for a short while, but I am in love with it! It is so much fun to drive around in with the top down, enjoying the breeze, and people staring at me. (Let's hope it's a good stare!)
I haven't done a whole lot yet to it, other than fixing a few minor problems, and installing a bit of lighting and building a custom box for the subs in the trunk. I do have plenty more plans in store for it, once I get a bit more money (I payed for the car in full) and once school starts and the busyness of the first couple weeks starts to slow down.
Hey. I too have a Sebring Conv. I liked your work with the interior lighting. I was wondering how exactly you installed those. I looked up the Logisys Cold Cathodes and it came up with the lighting but it was more aimed at PC lighting. If you could get back to me that would be sweet.
Thanks boss,
ACE
hey could you give me the dimensions for the speaker box you have I have 2 12"s I'd like to install just email me (killjoy5188@hotmail.com) thanks man
Hey i too am curious about the subs. R those shallow subs? Where did u buy ur box? Custom? You can get back to me at kylebaker1109@yahoo.com
Thank you in advance and hope to hear from you soon.
How it was Used: This is the amp used to power the two subs in my trunk. I purchased this off of ebay from the same company that I purchased the subs from.
The rating on this amp is 300W x 2 peak, so it pushes out an average of ~ 500W RMS total. In my car, it's enough to vibrate all the mirrors and door panels. As an audiophile by nature and by business, I am more interested in SQ versus SPL, so I am content with an average-level amount of sub in my car.
Price Paid: $85
How it was Used: I purchased these subs off of Ebay back when I had my old car. They are wonderful subs, and do exactly what I want them to, without ticking off my passengers, or neighboring cars. They are 300W peak, ~175W RMS, and doubled, put out enough sound to satisfy me at 65mph with the top down!
Price Paid: $20
How it was Used: This is the custom box that I built and then carpeted to fit nice and snug into my trunk. I had to build the box with a rather large notch cut out, since the soft-top folds down into the trunk, taking up a chunk of the space in there. The box still sounds awesome, despite being oddly shaped. The cubic footage is still where it nees to be (~.75cu*ft/sub), and it certainly pounds, even while going 65mph down the highway.
Price Paid: $30
How it was Used: I've installed 3 sets of cathode lighting into my car so far. I've got:
1) Pair of blue under the front dash, one under each side.
2) Pair of purple onder the front of the front seats, one under the front of each seat.
2) Pair of blue under the rear of the front seats, one under the rear of each seat.
These things are awesome, and make quite a statement. They are really an eye-catcher at night when I'm driving around with the top down. They're awesome, and so much cheaper than streetglow neon crap!
Price Paid: $30
How it was Used: This is the wireless remote that I installed to control all the aftermarket electronics in my car. It is 4-channel, and can be used for pretty much anything.
Currently, I have it set up as follows:
1)
2)
3) Interior Lighting
4) Amplifier for the subs
Price Paid: $35
