I saw a Lotus in that exact same color here in Austin the other day, what a co-ink-i-dink.

The article explains why the sub was placed there. If you've ever seen an Elise, you'd know how little room you have to work with! I say, give her a gold star for being creative AND over the top. That's what gets attention, isn't it?

If YOU'VE ever seen an Elise then you know what they are about, and I hate to say it but the stereo has nothing to do with it ;) I'd say it was creative but unfortunately thats the 5th or 6th Elise I've seen with a sub stuffed there.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for different and doing your own thing, but with a car like this you HAVE to expect harsh criticism when you do stuff like that. Hell, the majority of owners complain about ANYTHING that adds weight. Every wheel that is introduced to the Elise scene immediately gets the "How much does it weigh?!?" comments, as do most other normal accessories. I installed an Alpine head unit in my Elise JUST so I could have good access to my iPod and I've surprisingly not received any negative feedback about it, yet. I was expecting a whirlwind of "You shouldn't care about the radio!!!" comments but so far people are pretty nice about it. Subs, amps, chrome wheels, etc (think stuff from "Dub") do get immediate negative attention from a lot of owners though.

Anyway, I personally like that CO Elise but if she's going to continue with modifications like that then she has to be prepared for more negative comments from the rest of the community.
