TPI Total Performance of Wichita, Kansas

This 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback A.K.A. “The Pit Viper” is one of the vehicles featured weekly on Motor’n TV Project Central segment was build by TPI Performance of Wichita, Kansas. This vehicle was found in California and returned to the TPI performance shop here in Wichita, Kansas where a total make over of the vehicle is being done.

The decision was made to completely rebuild the Mustang and turn it into a G-Machine. The Mustang was disassembled and media blasted. Close inspection was made of the sheet metal panels for rust and damaged panels. TPI Performance decided to go ahead and replace all the damaged sheet metal on the Mustang and replace what was needed for a complete restoration of “The Pit Viper”. They then added the Eleanor kit which was modified to their specifications. This was followed by the redesign of the front and rear ends. The rear bumper was refit to give it that smooth look. The hood is custom built with an all original hood scoop. The 427 V8 was installed also with the new 6 speed transmission. There is now an all new suspension front and rear, with a 9” Ford rear end and Baer brakes on all four corners. &#x201CThe Pti Viper” now has a total customer interior design by TPI Performance with a full roll cage built into car.
