Every Thursday from 8pm CET the Berlin Mitte Institut fur Bessere Elektronische Musik
presents local, national and international DJ in-crowd and acts on the
electronic music scene. We focus on supporting unknown artists with
appealing productions and presenting the BEST from all genres of electronic music plus selecting the essence of monthly releases for the interested listener.
The BMI considers itself not just as a platform for the nameless
bedroom DJ, but also for the already resident club DJs and producers
with a huge pile of releases and big name reputations. To fulfil these
aims, the BMI broadcasts weekly (from its inception in October 2006)
each and every Thursday from 8pm CET till midnight on Radio Quintessenz
in LIVE video and audio streaming.
The playlist includes national and international electronic front-line combatants who will showcase their definition of “better electronic music”. Once a month we air the “//release”
feature to showcase thelatest releases of labels and unsigned artists,
big and small, and give our considered comments and feedback.
The show is produced by Jan Kühn aka Fresh Meat from the Berlin based Electro crew NICHT BEKLEBEN,
a bunch of urban slackers with roots in the Berlin Drum & Bass
scene, who have explored and fallenin love with the breadth of the
electronic universe beyond planet Drum & Bass.
