A guide on how to find the freshest news in the auto industry before your friends do.
Leftlane News is one of the bigger blogs out there for auto news. It's main competitor being autoblog. Personally I dig the design of Left Lane much better.
In any case you'll find a mix of everything there, though they don't seem to be so heavy on industry reporting, which is something I appreciate.
Autoblog is pretty much the defacto... well ... auto blog out there for people looking to get news. On the most part they deserve their reputation and find scoops quite regularly. They're recently launched a sister site specifically covering alternative energy sources.
AutoMoto Portal is fairly new on the scene. They offer the best design of any of the news sites and it's pretty easy to get around. For the most part they aren't as cluttered with ads as the other sites either. One nice thing is that they host their own video and tend to put a couple vids up each day.
If you really need to find your news fast the best place is going to be to sign up for press releases from the individual ccar makers themselves. Most of them allow individuals to sign up and it's the best place to get hi-res photos of the newest cars (most sites crunch them down). Below is a screenie of BMW's press page.
