That's actually a pretty cool ride. I remember wanting to buy an MG when I was growing up, but my parents had a couple and told me theirs actually "caught on fire". British Engineering I guess.

Oh it was most decidedly lucas :) part of the reason why my father sold his 77 mgb and bought a used s2000.. that and the picky carbs.. he was forever adjusting those dual SUs.

Yeah I was constantly adjusting my carbs ont that MG. I'd still get one again though.
my first "cool" car was the first mgc-gt in marin county. i had made up my mind to by the mgb-gt when the salesman said that they just got in the new 6 cylinder "c" model that would be taking the place of the austin healy, and it was only $300 more than the "b" i was set on buying. needless to say i bought the "c" and saw it in the shop for most of the 4 years i owned it for one thing or another.
