This is a 3.2 liter Carrera Targa. I looked for more than 10 years to find one in this color. It's very rare to find "Summer yellow" on a Targa model. The Targa refers to the Targa Florio, an Italian road race that Porsche won several times. The top is made so that the center section is removable, and foldable.
I found the car through an ad in Porsche Panorama. It lived in Whidby Island, Washington until it was shipped to me in the spring of 2004.
How it was Used: Weltmeister anti-roll bars reduce body lean in corners. These are adjustable for stiffness, and replace the stock, softer factory bars.
Price Paid: $0
A4 3.2 V6, 6 spd, S-line, comfort and winter packages, P6s on 18"s. This pic is a temporary one until I can take a good shot of mine.
This is my wife's car. We bought it from the original owner ( a good friend) in late 1983, after he had heavily modified it. According to him, it's the prototype for a series of 38 Callaway 944 Turbo conversions done between 1983 and the announcement of the 944 Turbo by Porsche in 1985. As well as the 285-HP motor. the car has upgraded suspension and brakes, along with a killer sound system by CarTunes of Watertown, MA. It's generally a garage queen, but makes public appearances to win car show awards. Most recently, the car won its class at the 50th Porsche Parade Concours d'Elegance in Hershey, PA in 2005.
