I've had this car for nearly 3 years.
I was lucky to find it as it's the 110bhp tdi not the 90bhp.
It's needed no major work, but so far I've added a powerflow exhaust, k&n induction kit, alloys, decent stereo, angel eye headlights, crystal indicators and side repeaters, EBC Greenstuff pads, de-cat pipe, and little chrome strips on the bumpers and dash, had the rust taken out, black plastic trim colour coded and pinkness turned red. There's a few other little bits but they don't deserve mentioning.
It's been broken into twice since I've owned it, gone through 3 sets of alloys, had 2 head units and 2 subwoofers.
Might be going though if this other deal on a mk5 comes through....
WORST PEDALS IN THE WORLD, THOUGHT THEY LOOKED GOOD, FITTED ASET AND THEY PROMPTLY FELL APART. I'D GOT EM OFF OF EBAY SO I LEFT SHITE FEEDBACK. I GOT BANNED FROM EBAY FOR THAT ONE. THESE PEDALS ARE CURSED
I've had the pedals on there for 2 years without an issue. Mine were from eBay.
How it was Used: Wolfrace Street Octane 15" with Nangkang tyres. Wouldn't get a polished lip again in the UK. No matter how much I clean and polish them they aren't shiny any more (picture taken when I first got them)
Price Paid: £499
How it was Used: A K&N induction kit. Made it a bit noisier and slightly more torqey. Don't think I'll bother again though. Lot of money for not a lot of difference.
Price Paid: £82
How it was Used: JBL 400 powering a cheapy mutant sub. Complements the factory speakers really well though.
Price Paid: £70
I had this car for three years, and in that time it went from a mighty granny machine to a half respectable car.
It had a chip, cat-back exhaust, lowered, alloys, k&n, uprated HT leads, uprated alternator & battery, manifold off a 1.3 GT, debadged grill, clear indicators & side repeaters, de-badged then rebadged.
Not forgetting of course, the terrible paint job which covered 2 layers of hammerite.
I would have put more pics up, but they've corrupted on my hard drive.
I managed to sell this car for £50, as the head gasket had gone, taking the radiator and single point injection unit with it...
