The 2CV was in production from 1948-1990. It is an icon of French motoring.
2CV (or deux chevaux) literally meaning 2 horses.
The earliest 2CVs have a distinctive bonnet, hence the nickname "Ripple Bonnets." The original 2CV has a 375cc engine churning out only 9bhp but then it was designed to replace the horse and cart in which case it compares favourably. (edit this text)
